Perceptions and Behaviors Around Diabetes

In a 24/7, news-filled world, how do we break through to make people understand the seriousness of diabetes? After all, what's serious to some people might not be to others. How can we elevate the urgency of the disease?

The Societal Barometer was conducted to understand people's perceptions, attitudes and knowledge about diabetes. Does the public see it as a serious disease? Do they know the risk factors for diabetes? Do they feel that diabetes directly impacts their lives?

Like many areas of our lives, we know we should do something, but for some reason, action doesn't always follow. This public opinion survey, conducted by Gallup, provides real insight into the behaviors around diabetes. Understanding what people are thinking is an important part of identifying the steps necessary to transform awareness into action and encouraging individuals to lead healthier lifestyles to prevent diabetes.
